If you missed Frieze LA in February, many of the galleries who had openings coinciding with the fair, which has officially become ‘art week’ in Los Angeles, are still available to view in March, including Helmut Lang at Schindler House in West Hollywood, along with a new gallery opening specializing in South Asian Art in Hollywood, and many others are still giving a portion of proceeds back to LA wildfire relief. If you are up for a road trip, head out to Palm Springs for the Desert X art installations which will run through May across the Coachella Valley.

Curated by Los Angeles artist Devon DeJardin, the gallery’s Los Angeles space will bring together a young generation of artists who put their mark on their idea of what ‘Western’ means to them, as the American West continues to enthrall the cowboy ethos, with its independent spirit and rugged individualism and connection to the beauty of the land. This influence is felt across current pop-culture from fashion to music and can be seen from a sunset cactus landscape by Sol Summers to a ‘quick draw’ depiction by Connor Tingley, this is a fun-filled and thought-provoking exhibit.
